The Bank of Canada building is a neoclassical grey granite edifice located on Wellington Street in Ottawa.  The building was completed in 1938.

The modern glass building that is located directly behind houses the vast majority of bank staff.  It was completed in 1972 and features an enclosed courtyard with gardens.

The Bank of Canada or BoC is a federal Crown corporation that was established to "promote the economic and financial well-being of Canada".  It does this by regulating credit and currency.

The responsibilities of the bank include formulating monetary policy, issuing banknotes, promoting a safe and sound financial system and providing various central bank services.
